Project Overview

Kiara Industries, a company I co-founded, is a leader in Italy for the secure collection and signing of industrial process data using Blockchain technology. The Kiara Connect system, personally designed and currently developed by the internal team, represents a unique innovation in the industrial landscape.

Kiara Connect collects data from PLC and CNC machines and securely signs it on the blockchain, ensuring tamper-proof integrity. This patented process enables clients to produce legally valid data, usable even in court proceedings.

THE CHALLENGE

The market problem

In the manufacturing industry, the certification and legal validity of production data represent a critical and largely unresolved problem. The main challenges we faced included:

  • Process data collected by traditional industrial systems is easily modifiable, making it impossible to prove its authenticity in case of legal disputes or quality claims.
  • Quality certificates based on data without guaranteed integrity expose companies to significant risks in case of product defects or non-compliance.
  • No market solution existed that could guarantee the immutability and legal validity of industrial data without requiring invasive modifications to existing production systems.
  • The solution had to materialize as a dedicated physical hardware device, combining software, firmware, and electronic engineering expertise in a single product.

What we built

Kiara Connect is a complete system that combines dedicated hardware, embedded software, and blockchain technology to ensure the integrity of industrial data:
