A comprehensive analysis of the production process was conducted and, through a discrete event simulation, it was determined that the available space was sufficient, with an average occupation of 70% of total capacity under normal operating conditions.
- Process analysis: In-depth study of the raw material flow, from truck arrival times to consumption rates on the production lines, with real data collected over representative periods.
- DES simulation model: Building a simulation model that faithfully replicates the behavior of the storage system, including the natural variability in arrival, unloading and consumption times.
- Multiple scenarios: Running simulations with different operating scenarios, including days with normal volumes, production peaks and exceptional conditions.
- Statistical analysis: Processing the results with statistical analysis to determine with confidence the average occupancy rate and the peak values.
